Hi I'm Anne
I have been working with dogs on and off since leaving school. I started my career working in a boarding kennels, caring for dogs who spent their holidays with us. From here I progressed to working with field trials spaniels teaching them to respond to whistle commands whilst retrieving over long distances in open fields.
In 2009 I attended Chester University where I achieved a BA (Hons) in Animal Behaviour. I spent some time with the Dogs Trust in Huyton working alongside their behaviour team; assessing behaviour and implementing training programmes for dogs in their care. After working for the Dogs Trust for just a short while I realised that even the naughtiest dogs could find their forever homes if they receive a little bit training. The training helped them to understand the human world and what they needed to do to fit into it. It was so easy and I loved, however I quickly learnt that if I really wanted to break the cycle of rehoming I needed to focus on preventative measure such as training the dogs before families give up on them.
Boom... Wirral Dog Training was born.
Hi I'm Lisa,
my career path has taken a very different one to Annes but hey none the less I'm here and I love it! My journey started working within the field of human behaviour and learning to understand why humans behave the way they do and how behaviour is affected by biological and environmental factors. Since meeting Anne and learning to understand how dogs think I have been able to make significant links between human behaviour and dog behaviour. This is very important because if we can understand how our behaviour influences our dogs behaviour we can easily change it. Understanding animal behaviour has been a real eye opener for me and has simply strengthened my love of animals, I think its fair to say I would pick a furry friend over a human any day.
As a part of my commitment to you guys and Wirral Dog Training I have completed a Diploma in Animal Psychology and will continue to learn everything I can to ensure we deliver up to date, humane, positive and effective training.
